Day is Done

Because my art is mostly abstract, I never quite know what I am going to create when I begin. I mix up a few colors and begin to add layers of colors, patterns, and textures. As the piece becomes alive, I start to be more deliberate in creating a story. But sometimes, I do not know the story until the piece is finished. So it was with this piece. In it I see a sunset over Cape Cod Bay. Sunsets on the Cape can be spectacular, as the colors change from blue to yellow to lavender to hot pink and the clouds dance in between. I love the quiet at sunset. It’s magical.
